Psychiatry Unit - Ward 8
This is a 72-hour Acute Ward working hand to hand with Witrand Hospital, we admit patients with
1. Psychiatric Disorder
2. Major depressive disorder
3. Substance Induced psychotic disorder
4. Dementia
5. Anxiety Disorder
The usual stay of the patient depend on the condition of a patient, the process of referring patient to other Psychiatric Institution e.g. Witrand Hospital, depend on whether patient respond to the treatment.
Usually after admission Doctors do first interview to get history of patient Blood Test: FBC, COVID, PCR and URINE TEST.
Doctors prescribe treatment according to the needs of the patient
If there is a need for referring the patient to Witrand Hospital, the Doctor will inform the sister in charge to call the family to fill in the O4 FORMS.
We also include multi-disciplinary team: Social Worker, Psychologist to have a meeting with patient, if there is a need then call the family.
Upon discharge of the patient we give health education to both patient and the family about the treatment, side effects, condition of the patient in general and Rehabilitation Service available
